Downing College offers a superb conference centre and flexible meeting facilities in the heart of Cambridge. Facilities range from small boardrooms to larger theatre-style layouts in the Howard Theatre and Howard Building for up to 150 delegates.
While giving the impression that the buildings are spread over acres of space, it is surprising how compact the College domus is with all facilities in close proximity.
THE HOWARD CONFERENCE CENTRE
The Howard Theatre and the Howard Building are fitted with a full range of the most up-to-date presentation equipment. The Howard Conference Centre has been built to meet current environmental standards with a ground-source heating system and solar power to heat water in the building.
The buildings surround the West Lodge Gardens on three sides creating an inclusive and intimate environment.
CATERING FACILITIES
We offer a selection of catering services, with menus ranging from finger and fork buffets to barbecues and Gala dinners.
Executive Chef Steve Wade has prepared our menus using locally-sourced ingredients and seasonal food from sustainable sources.
LOCATION
Downing College is located perfectly; the centre of Cambridge is just a short walk from our main gates and Cambridge Railway Station is just 15 minutes' walk away. Car parking is offered within the College grounds, although it is subject to availability.
