Over the summer we were delighted to welcome some special little creatures to Downing.

As part of our ongoing commitment to promoting wildlife, the College has been accepted as a site for re-homing hedgehogs. The Master and his wife Vicki are seen here with members of the Gardens team in August when Judith Large from the Shepreth Hedgehog Hospital arrived (in her Hedgehog Ambulance!) to deliver two hedgehogs to their new home in the Master's Lodge garden.

The release pen pictured was a temporary measure while the hedgehogs adjusted to their new environment.
