Downing College is delighted to announce that we have been named the winner of the Cambridge BID ‘Best Customer Service’ award in the ‘University B&B’ category. Members of the Downing College Conference and Functions team accepted the award at a ceremony held at St John's College, Cambridge on Thursday 20 September.
Cambridge BID (‘Business Improvement District’) has a membership of over 1100 businesses and is recognised for having one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings in the UK. The awards are judged on the basis of ‘secret shopper’ experiences in the spring and summer. Given the high standard of the competition, this is a huge accolade for the College and a testament to the dedication and professionalism of our Porters, Housekeeping, Conference, and Catering teams.

The College constantly strives to provide a high standard of facilities by constant investment and this summer installed room-controlled air conditioning into 16 bedrooms in Battcock Lodge for our guests to enjoy during the summer months. We are delighted and very proud to have won the BID award for a second time which represents the welcome and hospitality our guests receive when staying at Downing.”
