Access to the College

Access to the College is via the Main entrance on Regent Street. For security reasons, the pedestrian gate is closed at 11.00pm (sometimes earlier, depending on external activity). Access after this time is via the Porters’ Lodge, by ringing the bell.

Availability of Bedrooms & Departure Times

Rooms are normally available to guests from 2.00pm on their day of arrival, and must be vacated by 9.30am on the day of departure. A luggage room is available on request.

 On arrival all Guests are required under the Immigration (Hotel Records) Order 1972 to complete a registration form giving full name and address and nationality.   Non UK guests will also be required to provide the number and place of issue of their passport, their nationality and their next destination. These records must be kept for at least 12 months and be available for inspection by any police officer

College Lawns

The College tradition is that only the Master and Fellows of the College may walk on the lawns. The Paddock, situated to the south of the Main Court, is available for informal ball games and relaxation. Benches are provided for your comfort.

You will be given a small questionnaire on arrival and we welcome any comments you may have on our facilities. 

Dining Facilities

The College Dining Hall is situated on 'A' staircase off the College Main Court.

Meal Times:
Please note that these times are only a guide, please check with your conference organiser for your specific meal times.

Breakfast- 08.00am -09.00am
Lunch- 12.30pm –1.30pm
Dinner- 6.00pm – 6.45pm

Domestic Arrangements

All bedrooms are serviced daily. Towels and toiletries are provided. Ironing facilities are located in the nearby kitchen.

Emergencies

In case of Medical, Fire or Police Emergency please contact The Porters’ Lodge,  
Tel (01223) 334800 the porter on duty will inform the Emergency Services.

Fire Safety

Please familiarise yourself with nearest emergency exit and assembly point (the assembly point is identified on the notice on the back of the bedroom door). Should the fire alarm sound, please leave by the nearest exit or staircase and assemble in the allocated assembly point. Do not stop to pick up personal belongings.

Heating

For your comfort the radiators within your room are thermostatically controlled. This means that if you require the temperature inside your room to be raised, please turn the numbered valve on the radiator towards six. If you require the temperature inside your room to be reduced, please turn the numbered valve towards zero.

Laundry Facilities

There is a launderette situated behind ‘T’ staircase. Please note that these machines are card operated (a card can be purchased from the Porter’s Lodge) and comprise both washing and drying facilities. The safety of your possessions is your responsibility, and the College cannot accept responsibility for any loss.

Lost Keys

There is a £10 charge for failure to return your room key on time. Lost Keys may attract a higher charge, because of the need to change the locks.

Mail

If during your stay you receive any mail, please ensure that the name of your conference is clearly marked at the top of the address. This can then be collected from the Porters Lodge.

Parking

Parking is subject to availability, and must be organised with your conference organiser prior to arrival. All vehicles must display a relevant parking permit, and must only park in the designated spaces. Please do not park in spaces marked “FELLOWS”.

Personal security

It is recommended that you lock your door at all times and your windows before leaving your room. All guests are responsible for providing their own insurance for loss, theft, or damage. The College cannot accept responsibility for any such losses. The Porters’ Lodge is manned 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, please contact the porters in case of any suspicious behaviour or threat to people or property, or if you require assistance.
